Singer Records was started in London in 2005 by hit producer/arranger Ray Singer , who has worked with Japan, Peter Sarstedt, Joan Armatrading, Average White Band etc.
Singer Records was created for musicians like Ray, who wanted the freedom to release the kind of music they wanted, without the commercial compromises major labels often demand. A studio was set up in London’s Kentish Town at a converted, Victorian postman’s office. From here many musicians visiting the studio have put down tracks in a relaxed atmosphere, most often with Ray at the console.
The new label hopes to release a steady stream of varied product over the years, with always the caveat that "the music stays the most important part of the equation."
